Tour Update Week 4

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

We start this segment with our friends, the Nolands, in Paradise California.

We ate great, and their son James wanted to play with our brakes for us.

We used the opportunity to attempt cleaning our trailer.

We left with full stomachs and grateful hearts.

This is Shawn. He has a church in Angel’s camp, California.

It’s called Refuge. Go check it out.

For some reason, he likes us, and tries to help us out when he can. This weekend, he was running a winter camp for Sonora, Amador, Valley Springs, and Stockton’s Calvary Chapels. If you scroll down a bit, you’ll see we’ve recently played three out of four. The campers already knew and (somewhat) loved us.

This was friday.

There was some snow, but for a winter camp, it was definitely lacking some powder.

This was sunday.

The snow made Austin happy.

The entire camp was just a blast.

From camp, we picked up a show in Copperopolis with another Pasor Sean.

and on Monday, we played a show in Stockton with a Pastor Paul.

The show was primarily for some guys caught in the legal system. Paul definitely has a heart for the lost.

and tuesday, we played another pickup show in Sonora.

We had some technical problems, but we were the first band to EVER play this venue. So, we pretty much win, in general. Period.

Today is our day of rest, and I’m looking forward to it. Any suggestions on what I should do today?

Earlier this week, I sent my mom a video on facebook (weird?) jokingly complaining about not being fed well or taken care of by the people we stay with on the road. the joke was that, at the time, we were at the Noland’s house, which happen to be some of the kindest, most caring people I’ve ever met. They’re like the nice cool grandparents I never had and they are even closer to my parents.

Later, we went to a winter camp, and they gave us a bunch of leftover junk food when we left Sunday morning. Sunday night, we had a pickup show, where the youth pastor (Sean) gave us pizza, and some snacks.

Monday, Shawn gave us doughnuts, milk and Orange juice for breakfast, then later that night, Pastor Paul gave us dinner, juice packs and even more junk food.

This is most of what we had left over tuesday morning.

It’s ridiculous! I don’t know how we can possibly finish all this stuff before we leave town.
