Pueblo’s Finest.

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

Last night, the band was enjoying the company of Joey’s Grandma and Aunt and Uncle in Pueblo, Colorado. We’ve been here for a few days with Joey’s Dad and Sister.

It was getting late. Joey and I went to check out Walmart because we’re so cool, and Lu had to go on a walk. Lu goes on walks and listens to various pastors podcasts at night. He claims he’ll walk anywhere between 7-15 miles a night, just checking out an area.

Joey and I spent about an hour at Walmart before heading back to the house we were staying at. We were almost there when Joey got a call from the police department. They asked him to ‘pick up your friend Lucien on Sweetwater’. Unfortunately, neither of us know any streets in Pueblo, and Lu is our token pathfinder with his iphone. Needless to say, asking the police for directions, and shouting out every street sign to them was pretty entertaining for the 5 or 6 minutes.

When we found Sweetwater, we found 4 cop cars, all lights rotating, and spotlights on our drummer, standing with his hands behind his back in the middle of the street.
You can imagine our surprise and bewilderment. What did Lu do to deserve this drastic amount of police?
The officer kindly explained that he had received many calls about a scary walker in their neighborhood. Someone assumed he was a prowler or something and called 911. They asked that we drive him home, and he stop being so creepy. Lu’s only complaint was that they caught him a mere 2 miles into his walk, and he couldn’t go back out and finish.

Setting the Record Straight.

Back in 2007, a lot of people told Lu that he looked JUST like Uri, the drummer from MXPX. Though I agreed at the time, I’ve recently changed my opinion. At Joshuafest, MXPX was the last night’s headliner. As they signed Cds for old fans and young kids collecting signatures like pokemon cards, Lu and I cut in for a picture.

Here is your comparison, America. Enjoy.

Joshuafest is a festival in Quincy, California. For those of you that don’t know what it is, here’s a link.

For those of that are wondering why you care about this festival, here’s a link for you.

Get Johannes to JoshuaFest!!!

Going there this year was pretty much a dream come true. It was a rare place my family and dozens of friends from across California connected. I had a great time seeing old friends and meeting new ones.

We didn’t play the main stage, but we played the Indie stage for our set, and they put us on the acoustic stage an extra 3 times(once electric, twice actually acoustic). Every show seemed to get a pretty positive response.

It was a great trip. I’m very much excited by how the weekend went. I’m hoping the rest of our tour lives up to it’s beginning.
